You might have already heard about X-Academy, a new initiative to inspire and harness minds towards energy innovations and the climate crisis.

The scheme, driven by global energy consultancy Xodus, provides a two-year mentored placement in Aberdeen, giving graduates and those looking to reskill the chance to work on real climate issues. Non-profit-making X-Academy will reinvest training profits into further skills development, climate projects and innovations.

As a further education body I thought this might be of interest to your students and alumni who may be looking for an exciting new opportunity to reskill and make a meaningful impact.

With applications to apply closing on Sunday the 28th November, we’d love to share a little more about the programme and offer a chance to ask any questions. X-Academy director, Peter Tipler will be holding a webinar lunch ‘n’ learn on Wednesday 24th November.

The enthusiasm and dedication of the early group that would become AREG was fundamental in us choosing to launch All-Energy in Aberdeen. The first tiny show was held in 2001, and AREG’s Chairman at the time, Jeremy Cresswell, played such an active role that I often describe him in terms such as All-Energy’s ‘midwife’.
