One of the most highly anticipated decommissioning events on the industry’s calendar takes place this November. The Offshore Decommissioning Conference, hosted by leading trade body OEUK, is a prime opportunity for people across the sector to network, share expertise and gain insight on decommissioning issues and opportunities in the UK Continental Shelf.

The theme this year is energising decommissioning – sharing opportunities, ideas, successes, challenges and lessons to explore how operators, regulators and the supply chain can collaborate to support safe, efficient and effective decommissioning. With sessions looking at innovation, sharing cross-sector expertise with newer sectors like wind, and repurposing opportunities, join for a  celebration of the UK’s decommissioning industry.

The enthusiasm and dedication of the early group that would become AREG was fundamental in us choosing to launch All-Energy in Aberdeen. The first tiny show was held in 2001, and AREG’s Chairman at the time, Jeremy Cresswell, played such an active role that I often describe him in terms such as All-Energy’s ‘midwife’. All-Energy is now the UK’s largest renewable and low carbon energy exhibition and conference in terms of number of attendees, space booked, and number of exhibiting companies.
