As the number of operational wind farms has increased so has the requirement to undertake compliance monitoring.
Noise monitoring can be undertaken for various reasons; it is sometimes done voluntarily by operators, it can be required by planning conditions and is occasionally required in response to noise complaints.
Assessments can be complex and expensive so regardless of the purpose of the monitoring it is important to ensure that assessments are carefully planned out to ensure the correct data is collected and that firm conclusions can be drawn.
This session will provide a brief overview of the steps involved in compliance monitoring and will touch on some of the key lessons the TNEI team have learned in the last 15 years.
The session will be delivered by TNEI’s Director for Environment and Engineering, James Mackay and Principal Consultant, Jason Baldwin and should be of interest to project developers, operators and consenting authorities.
