ZESTAs (Zero Emissions Ship Technology Association) has appointed Aberdeen-based creative marketing agency Mearns & Gill to help manage ShipZERO30, a significant industry workshop focused on hydrogen and zero-emissions shipping technologies coming to the city this September. The four-day workshop, taking place from September 23-26, 2025, marks a pivotal moment in the maritime industry’s transition to absolute zero emissions.
Mearns & Gill will provide comprehensive event management, marketing, and sponsorship services for this transformative industry gathering. ShipZERO30 represents the fifth instalment in ZESTAs’ successful ShipZERO series, and this edition marks a significant shift from demonstration to full-scale deployment of zero-emission solutions in the North Sea and Baltic regions.
“We welcome the opportunity to support ZESTAs and are pleased to bring our event expertise to ShipZERO30,” says Sarah Young, Event Manager at Mearns & Gill. The workshop brings together decision-makers from shipping and energy sectors to create an Absolute Zero Emissions Ecosystem in the North Sea/Baltic region. Our team will help to deliver a comprehensive programme including:
- An exclusive pre-workshop focused on making hydrogen supply chains a reality
- Sessions on turning policy into action, covering emissions trading systems, energy supply, and port infrastructure
- A dedicated deployment day examining vessels, technology, routes, and financing
- A unique partnership-building opportunity through a Scottish Highlands & Whisky Tour
Mearns & Gill’s scope includes event management, marketing strategy implementation, and sponsorship sales. With extensive experience in delivering renewable energy events in Aberdeen, including the Geothermal Seminar, CO2 Storage Conference, and Scottish Energy Futures Conference for organisations such as SPE Aberdeen and AREG, the team brings proven expertise in facilitating high-level industry discussions around energy transition.
The team is currently seeking industry partners, with sponsorship opportunities ranging across budgets, providing organisations with various levels of engagement and visibility.
Industry experts are invited to submit papers focusing on operational experience with zero-emission vessels, scaling renewable energy, building port ecosystems, and implementing absolute zero technologies. As emphasised by ZESTAs, this isn’t just another industry event – it’s where deployment happens.
