Organised by RenewableUK and Subsea UK, Cables 2020 the UK’s only subsea power cables event that is designed by industry for industry.

With over 16 300 km of cables needed for new offshore wind projects between 2019 and 2024, the safe and secure connection of wind farms is a critical success factor for our industry. It is also a growing opportunity for cable manufacturers and suppliers working across the globe.

Cables2020 will tackle the big questions around subsea cables through information sharing and industry-led problem-solving to drive improvements and enable cross-industry collaboration.

We will discuss the supply chain’s resilience to meet the growing demand across survey, installation and manufacturing, the challenges posed by insurance, monitoring, O&M and health and safety and a host of issues facing the sector.  Cables 2020 will bring together expert panels and presentations and workshops to address key challenges facing industry. All this in a safe, virtual environment.

The enthusiasm and dedication of the early group that would become AREG was fundamental in us choosing to launch All-Energy in Aberdeen. The first tiny show was held in 2001, and AREG’s Chairman at the time, Jeremy Cresswell, played such an active role that I often describe him in terms such as All-Energy’s ‘midwife’. All-Energy is now the UK’s largest renewable and low carbon energy exhibition and conference in terms of number of attendees, space booked, and number of exhibiting companies.
