The North-east of Scotland’s energy transition is a pathway towards the global transformation of the energy sector from fossil-based to zero-carbon by the second half of this century.

Cities like Aberdeen are an integral part of the solution. With a strong competitive advantage honed through our highly successful track record in R&D, innovation, technology development and internationalisation, to the region being home to the highest concentration of energy supply chain companies globally – alongside the £27m funding for the Aberdeen Energy Transition Zone and the first of its kind North Sea Transition Deal – we have the potential to accelerate the development of a world-leading energy transition cluster.

Hear the findings from Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce’s 34th Oil and Gas Energy Transition Survey, the longest running report of its kind in the UK, in partnership with KPMG, and learn what the latest data is telling us from business optimism to employment trends in the UK continental shelf and internationally to the sector’s approach to diversification and the impact of CV19.

The recent progress in the developments of offshore wind projects by Equinor and Vattenfall are as a result of the work of the group over many years. The enthusiasm and dedication of the early group that would become AREG was fundamental in us choosing to launch All-Energy in Aberdeen. The first tiny show was held in 2001, and AREG’s Chairman at the time, Jeremy Cresswell, played such an active role that I often describe him in terms such as All-Energy’s ‘midwife’. All-Energy is now the UK’s largest renewable and low carbon energy exhibition and conference in terms of number of attendees, space booked, and number of exhibiting companies.
