Member News: J+S Subsea’s significant investment set to unlock international growth

Leading subsea controls specialist J+S Subsea Limited has unveiled significant investment that is set to unlock further international growth for the ambitious company.

The company has purchased ten unused Shallow Water Vertical Trees (SVXT) and protection structures from UK-based operator, Spirit Energy. The move is likely to lead to the creation of new jobs at J+S Subsea Limited as the equipment gains traction thanks to its potential to unlock huge cost and delivery time savings versus new kit.

Following inspection and testing the kit has the potential to unlock shallow water reserves using a cost-efficient solution that is smaller, lighter and achieves substantial reductions in CO₂ emissions. This means that, despite their shallow water environment application, the market for the SVXTs is both expansive and global, from the UK and Europe to Asia, Africa and Australia.

The recent investment builds on the momentum of J+S Subsea’s ground-breaking Legacy Locker™ innovation which provides reuse options for clients’ existing stock and enables the purchase and recovery of items identified to be scrapped into re-certified and available off-the-shelf components to support the circular economy. By embracing practices that prioritise recycling, reuse, and repurposing Legacy Locker™ has proved central not only to the company’s growth but also in allowing clients to unlock capital tied up in unwanted equipment. The system also helps users to boost their environmental credentials by finding ways to reduce waste.
