MEMBER NEWS: Estonian energy delegation visit Global Underwater Hub

Last week, Global Underwater Hub welcomed a delegation from Estonia who were visiting north-east Scotland to build relationships with local organisations, project developers and the wider supply chain to support the delivery of energy projects in the Baltic region.

The delegation included representatives from energy providers, hydrogen producers, the country’s national investment agency and electronic and cabling companies.  Accompanying the group to Global Underwater Hub was the Estonian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, His Excellency Viljar Lubi.

Along with listening to a presentation about the DeepWind offshore wind cluster in the north of Scotland, the delegation heard from Global Underwater Hub members Balmoral and EODEX.

The enthusiasm and dedication of the early group that would become AREG was fundamental in us choosing to launch All-Energy in Aberdeen. The first tiny show was held in 2001, and AREG’s Chairman at the time, Jeremy Cresswell, played such an active role that I often describe him in terms such as All-Energy’s ‘midwife’. All-Energy is now the UK’s largest renewable and low carbon energy exhibition and conference in terms of number of attendees, space booked, and number of exhibiting companies.
