Egg-citing science fun this Easter
Aberdeen Science Centre is set to wow visitors with a ‘sweet’ programme of hands-on experiments, interactive exhibits and egg-citing science shows this Easter.
And the fun will get underway on Mothers’ Day, when mums will pay child admission prices throughout the day this Sunday, March 30.
The usual kids’ rules of look, don’t touch won’t apply during the school holidays as visitors are encouraged to get hands-on and explore over two floors of fun and interactive exhibits, learning about space, energy, the human body and much more.
Visitors will also love ASC’s newest addition – The Wall! This fast-paced, interactive experience challenges your body and mind to work in sync as children and adults take on challenges and games.
Just like everyone’s favourite pick ‘n’ mix, ASC’s STEM Celebration theme will offer a little bit of everything – from the marvels of technology and engineering to the magic of maths and science.
The team plans to bring back some crowd favourite activities, including stop-motion animation, science experiments and DashBot robots.
And for all the young detectives out there, the ASC Crime Lab is also returning.
Visitors can help solve a mystery by lifting fingerprints, examining ink and analysing soil samples to crack the case.
Elaine Holland, deputy chief executive at Aberdeen Science Centre, said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming visitors of all ages this Easter, when we’ll have lots of extra STEM Celebration activities as well as our permanent interactive exhibits.
“We’ll have the ASC Crime Lab as well as some old favourites we know everyone will love – plus a special admission price for mums to celebrate Mothers’ Day this Sunday, March 30. We’re open every day throughout the school holidays.”
Located on Constitution Street near Aberdeen beach, ASC is home to almost 65 interactive exhibits, allowing people of all ages to discover topics including Space, Energy, Life Sciences, Engineering, and much more.
Open seven days a week, the VisitScotland 5-star rated visitor attraction also offers exclusive venue hire as well as room hire for corporate, social and private events.
