Member News: New advisory board to lead the charge on collaboration and innovation

A next-generation name in subsea asset integrity management software has announced plans to drive growth through collaboration, thanks to the creation of a unique advisory board.

Elementz, which was launched in Aberdeen only last year, has announced the creation of “Compass,” a new customer strategic advisory board designed to foster deep collaborations with key industry leaders and drive customer-centric innovation.

Supported by Aker BP, Shell and Woodside, alongside other major operators, the project will provide a dynamic forum for industry pioneers to provide critical insights, candid feedback and collaborative guidance on product strategy, usability and future innovation.  Participation in Compass aims to provide partners with early access to innovations, working together to shape future products and create solutions that benefit individual organisations and the wider market.

The move is seen as vital in ensuring the Elementz portfolio evolves in step with customer needs and maximising the open lines of communication crucial to keeping it at the forefront of industry advancements whilst delivering tangible value as part of a broader Blue Digital Ecosystem.  This Elementz-coined concept integrates cloud-based platforms and applications for real-time data access; AI-driven solutions and analytics built on collective, trusted data sets; next generation sensors and robotics for automated and optimised data gathering; digital twins, simulation models and visualisation for operational efficiencies, and trusted, standard security protocols for secure data sharing.

Meeting in Aberdeen for this first time this week, Compass examined product strategy and direction, development with measurable industry impact, enhancements and improvements, whilst looking at innovation and emerging trends and how to achieve best practice sharing, cross-industry collaboration and mutual value creation.

Commenting on the launch of Compass, VP Subsea Aker BP and Elementz Board Member Camilla Leon said: “Compass is more than just an advisory board, it’s a collaborative movement placing our customers at the heart of product development.”

Jason Brown, CEO of Elementz, added: “Our customer strategic advisory board truly acts as our compass, guiding and steering product advancement while embodying a joint industry spirit of discovery.  Much like the four cardinal points of a compass, it represents the vital connection between our customers, users, developers, and support.  It also pays homage to one of the earliest logos of our software, signifying the solid foundation and legacy we’ve built alongside our valued customers.

“Through Compass, Elementz is setting a new standard for customer-driven innovation, ensuring that its subsea integrity software continues to evolve in lockstep with industry needs and future opportunities.”

With a dedicated team of 20, Elementz specialises in robust and trusted Software as a Service (SaaS).  The core offering – “Integrity Elementz” – provides a range of comprehensive, configurable cloud-based applications or “elements” to enable users to build End-to-End (E2E) integrity frameworks for their subsea assets.  They can be tailored to provide all the functionality needed to serve as the core integrity platform to effectively plan, execute and report on all integrity and inspection activities.

AREG is the original energy transition organisation, working on behalf of members to empower the energy supply chain and champion its expertise. Please get in touch if you have any questions or would like to find out more about membership.

AREG has played an important role in the growth of Scotland’s renewable energy sector, engaging the supply chain and developing the European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre. However, we are only at the very beginning of the transition that AREG was established to both lead and support so there are still opportunities for companies to get into the constantly evolving renewables supply chain. We look forward to continuing our work together as renewables builds on its place as Scotland’s main source of power, and as we seek to deliver real change in the crucial areas of heat and transport.

Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce has worked closely with AREG since its formation. The recent progress in the developments of offshore wind projects by Equinor and Vattenfall are as a result of the work of the group over many years. The north-east is known as the oil and gas capital of Europe. At the Chamber, we believe the region must evolve its position to being recognised as the energy capital. Whilst hydrocarbons will continue to be essential in driving our economy for years to come, the generation of renewable resources will play an increasingly important role in providing cost-effective power, innovative development and economic growth.

The enthusiasm and dedication of the early group that would become AREG was fundamental in us choosing to launch All-Energy in Aberdeen. The first tiny show was held in 2001, and AREG’s Chairman at the time, Jeremy Cresswell, played such an active role that I often describe him in terms such as All-Energy’s ‘midwife’. All-Energy is now the UK’s largest renewable and low carbon energy exhibition and conference in terms of number of attendees, space booked, and number of exhibiting companies. As AREG became firmly established, their presence and support for the event grew spectacularly over the years. We thank them most sincerely for their invaluable input.

Vattenfall has forged a strong working relationship with AREG through the development of the European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre. AREG has worked tirelessly on behalf of the North East and it can take enormous credit for the growth of sustainable energy in the region and the path it has cleared for the region to capture further investment.

Aberdeen City and Shire is emerging as a key location for renewables by successfully transferring its world-class oil and gas expertise into the sector and AREG has done much to advance this through a broad range of initiatives. It has acted as a catalyst in driving further investment in the local economy by engaging with companies, Government, public bodies and existing projects and we have been pleased to support their efforts. Scottish Enterprise will continue to engage with AREG as we increase Scotland’s use of renewable energy.
