RES is proud to announce that it has been shortlisted for the Best Engagement Award at the prestigious Scottish Green Energy Awards 2025. The nomination recognises the organisation’s commitment to meaningful engagement and its innovative approach to development projects in Scotland and the UK.
RES sets a gold standard in Scotland’s renewable energy sector through tailored, transparent engagement that goes beyond statutory requirements. From Community Liaison Groups and expert-led exhibitions to innovative visual tools and STEM outreach, RES aims to foster meaningful dialogue across generations.
This includes activities such as hosting over 60 students at the operational Meikle Carewe Wind Farm near Stonehaven, allowing energy curriculum students to see inside a wind turbine and control building, and learn more about careers in the renewable industry. Additionally, the shortlisting recognises RES’ commitment to community engagement and communication during the development phase of the Aberdeenshire located Hill of Fare Wind Farm proposal, which was submitted to the Energy Consents Unit in November 2023.
“We are honoured to be recognised among so many organisations and entries” said Gavin Shirley. “This shortlisting highlights the dedication of our teams and partners throughout the full life cycle of wind farm development in Scotland, and the importance of putting people and communities at the heart of Scotland’s renewable energy journey.”
The winners will be announced at the Scottish Green Energy Awards ceremony taking place on Thursday, 4 December 2025.
