Member News: Aberdeen Science Centre renews partnership with Equinor for lucky seventh year

Aberdeen Science Centre has extended its partnership with Equinor, marking seven years of collaboration towards inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers and innovators.

The Norway-headquartered international energy company is the first organisation to become a partner of the centre under its new corporate sponsorship programme, which launched earlier this year.

As a Silver Partner, Equinor will support Aberdeen Science Centre to fund the development of new educational programmes, exhibits and learning resources, alongside its ongoing school and community engagement sessions for children and young adults across the North-east of Scotland and beyond.

Funding from Equinor’s sponsorship will also be used to maintain and enhance the centre’s current exhibitions and activities.

Over the last seven years, Aberdeen Science Centre and Equinor have collaborated on a range of different activities, including boosting young people’s confidence with coding and robotics, community-focused events at the centre and a partnership with Norway’s Vitenfabrikken (The Science Factory) focused on developing a range of STEM projects and educational tools.

Launched in March 2026, Aberdeen Science Centre’s suite of corporate sponsorship packages allow companies to align their own work and values with activities at the centre and out in the community, helping to create engaging, high-impact science experiences while giving back to the local community and demonstrating a commitment to the next generation.
