Member News: All-Energy 2027 to focus on delivery, growth and security as new Chair and Executive Committee announced

All-Energy, the UK’s leading low-carbon energy and renewables event organised by RX, will return to the SEC Glasgow on 12-13 May 2027 with a conference programme built around the importance of powering delivery, growth and security as the sector aims to propel ambition into reality.

This overarching theme will form the backbone of content at All-Energy 2027, which will again feature a Strategic Summit. It will see attendees hear from senior leaders and policymakers addressing the key challenges and opportunities impacting the industry.

The summit will be shaped by six core themes, covering everything from clean power and flexibility to energy security, the North Sea and the investment needed for UK supply chain re-industrialisation.

Following the successful introduction of the strategic summit committee in 2026 a new 27-member Executive Committee, comprising senior leaders and experts from across the energy sector, will help shape the programme for the 2027 edition. Chaired by Dr Philippa Parmiter, Managing Director of Decarb Scotland, the committee will work collaboratively to develop a forward-looking programme that addresses the industry’s key challenges and opportunities.

Four Vice-Chairs stand alongside Philippa: Andrew Bruce, Senior Associate Director, Scottish Futures Trust; Clare Foster, Head of Clean Energy and Partner, Banking and Finance, Shepherd and Wedderburn; Derek Christie, Government Affairs Scotland and UK Sites, Siemens Energy; and Rob Micklewright, Senior External Affairs Manager, North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA).

Anam Khan, Event Manager, RX Global said:

“All-Energy welcomed a record turnout in May 2026 in what was our milestone 25th year. We are looking forward to carrying on that momentum into next year to ensure a bigger and better conference for a sector that continues to be of paramount importance to the UK and global economy.

“Our overarching theme for 2027, ‘Powering Delivery, Growth and Security’, reflects where the sector is now: the conversation is moving on from setting targets towards the practical work and proactive steps needed to build a clean and resilient energy system. The Strategic Summit is returning to offer a platform for in-depth, expert analysis that will ensure delegates leave Glasgow with the answers they need to take action and deliver results in their respective fields.”

The wider Executive Committee reaches beyond developers and policymakers to the investors, energy users and communities that delivery depends on including Deloitte, Great British Energy, Microsoft UK and National Energy System Operator (NESO). Its strategic purpose is to ensure that the conference programme addresses the significance of market signals, investment and policy; industrial delivery and supply chains; grid, flexibility and energy systems; energy demand, AI and industrial decarbonisation; and people, skills and productivity.

Dr Philippa Parmiter, Chair of the All-Energy 2027 Executive Committee, said:

“The challenges facing the delivery of net zero haven’t gone away. I welcome the opportunity to chair the All-Energy Executive Committee and help shape a Strategic Summit that is honest about the barriers the sector faces.

“Just as importantly, it will highlight the opportunities and celebrate the action and success already happening across the energy system. I’m joined on the committee by members from across the sector who bring a wealth of experience, and I look forward to playing my part in delivering another successful All-Energy.”

All-Energy’s show floor theatres are now also open for abstract submissions. The call for speakers covers seven theatres: Offshore/Onshore Wind & Marine Energy; Solar & Storage; Hydrogen; Future Grid; Heat & Community Energy; Future Talent; and Innovation, which will look at AI, data and the route from concept to deployment.

Organisers are looking for practical contributions: projects to share, lessons learned, new approaches and views on where the sector is heading. Abstracts can be submitted until 21 December 2026, with one abstract per topic, at: https://www.all-energy.co.uk/en-gb/show-programme/call-for-papers.html

AREG is the original energy transition organisation, working on behalf of members to empower the energy supply chain and champion its expertise. Please get in touch if you have any questions or would like to find out more about membership.

AREG has played an important role in the growth of Scotland’s renewable energy sector, engaging the supply chain and developing the European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre. However, we are only at the very beginning of the transition that AREG was established to both lead and support so there are still opportunities for companies to get into the constantly evolving renewables supply chain. We look forward to continuing our work together as renewables builds on its place as Scotland’s main source of power, and as we seek to deliver real change in the crucial areas of heat and transport.

Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce has worked closely with AREG since its formation. The recent progress in the developments of offshore wind projects by Equinor and Vattenfall are as a result of the work of the group over many years. The north-east is known as the oil and gas capital of Europe. At the Chamber, we believe the region must evolve its position to being recognised as the energy capital. Whilst hydrocarbons will continue to be essential in driving our economy for years to come, the generation of renewable resources will play an increasingly important role in providing cost-effective power, innovative development and economic growth.

The enthusiasm and dedication of the early group that would become AREG was fundamental in us choosing to launch All-Energy in Aberdeen. The first tiny show was held in 2001, and AREG’s Chairman at the time, Jeremy Cresswell, played such an active role that I often describe him in terms such as All-Energy’s ‘midwife’. All-Energy is now the UK’s largest renewable and low carbon energy exhibition and conference in terms of number of attendees, space booked, and number of exhibiting companies. As AREG became firmly established, their presence and support for the event grew spectacularly over the years. We thank them most sincerely for their invaluable input.

Vattenfall has forged a strong working relationship with AREG through the development of the European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre. AREG has worked tirelessly on behalf of the North East and it can take enormous credit for the growth of sustainable energy in the region and the path it has cleared for the region to capture further investment.

Aberdeen City and Shire is emerging as a key location for renewables by successfully transferring its world-class oil and gas expertise into the sector and AREG has done much to advance this through a broad range of initiatives. It has acted as a catalyst in driving further investment in the local economy by engaging with companies, Government, public bodies and existing projects and we have been pleased to support their efforts. Scottish Enterprise will continue to engage with AREG as we increase Scotland’s use of renewable energy.
